At Community Wisdom CIC, we promote healthy ageing with social wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. Our programmes encourage people to stay socially connected, mentally active, and physically well.
Our work focuses on six key areas:
We deliver activities across different locations, help us reach more people, respond to local needs, and involve community-led volunteers.
Since August 2025, we have worked in partnership with Staines Baptist Church, providing trusted and accessible community setting for our activities, at 16 Hale Road, Staines-upon-Thames (TW18 4UW).
Our Community Café offers a welcoming space where people can meet, chat, and build friendships over a hot drink and light refreshments. Friendly volunteers help create a relaxed and supportive environment where everyone feels welcome.
Good nutrition is essential for healthy ageing. Food for Health distributes surplus food and shares practical nutrition advice to help people maintain a balanced diet. The project also helps reduce food waste while supporting those affected by rising living costs.
Our Zero-Waste Compost project encourages eco-friendly habits while bringing people together. Activities such as composting, plant gifting, and gardening help reduce food waste, support the environment, and strengthen community connections.
Our Crochet and Knitting Circle brings people together to share skills, creativity, and conversation. Participants can learn new techniques, exchange ideas, and enjoy the relaxing and social benefits of crafting.
Our Seasonal Wellbeing Programme provides practical advice to help people stay safe and healthy throughout the year. Topics include fall prevention, extreme weather preparedness, and everyday health and safety guidance that supports independent living.
This series celebrates everyday activities that bring people together and improve wellbeing. Workshops explore simple but meaningful traditions that strengthen relationships and create lasting memories.
Through The Lost Wisdom series, we explore the knowledge and life experiences of older generations. These conversations celebrate lived experience and encourage reflection on the values that shape our communities.
